On May 4th to 6th of 2012, the 7th College Environmental Forum in China (CEF7) was held in Xiaozhou country of Guangzhou city. The Peking University representative, Liu Wen, who is a doctor of SEE, was invited to participate in the forum. This forum was organized by the Organizing Committee of CEF, hosted by Guangdong College Environmental Protection Students Union, sponsored by Tencent, Guangdong Environmental Protection Publicity and Education Center, Global Greengrants Fund (GGF), China Youth Climate Action Network (CYCAN) and so on. There were about more than 120 government enterprises and NGO organizations and about 350 green NGOs representatives attended.
The theme of this forum was “Art, Humanistic and Nature”, and the issues included “Art and Environmental Protection”, “Micro-Public Welfare, Micro Media and Micro Spread”, “Development of Regional Ecological Environmental Protection Organization”, “Link of the Environmental Organizations and Social Resources: Environmental Protection Project Promotion”. As the only national outstanding college students' representative and environmental protection associations, Dr Liu which was invited as the special guest of this forum had a communication with all the representatives in the opening ceremony on May 4th, and participated in the Sun forum like “Youth Actions of Environmental Protection” on May 5th.
The College Environmental Forum in China (CEF) is a platform for the excellent environmental groups and environmental protection actors nationwide, and it is aim to promoting the cooperation and development of college students' environmental groups. It was first held in Beijing in 2003, and then transferred to Kunming, Xi’an, Wuhan, Changsha and Chongqing. Up to now, more than 1000 actors directly participated in, and some famous medias like CCTV, China Youth Daily and son on had ever reported the actions of the forum.
Liu Wen, who is a Dr. (2009) of SEE, was the 25th president of Environmental Science Association of Nankai University (NKESA). And During that time, NKESA was once honored as the Nation's Excellent Association Pacesetter by Communist Youth League Central Group, and once sponsored by Ford Environmental Award and Toyota Environmental Award. He was one of the initiators of Tianjin College Environmental Protection Union, and acted as the first director. In 2010, he took up the post of the Mangrove Groups’ president, and then acted as a committee member of advisory group in Guangdong College Environmental Protection Students Union.
